A list of some of the local restaurant options!


The Manitou:

Just down the hill, the Manitou restaurant offers a variety of fare, including locally fresh caught fish. Whether you want to stop by for a cocktail in the lovely outdoor seating area, or stay for a meal made with local ingredients, this eatery along M22 is a must visit!


The Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill:

Looking to go a bit further? Try the Roadhouse located in Benzonia, Michigan. Open every day for dinner – year round, they offer fresh Mexican fare.  Everyone eats free on their Birthday, and with daily specials, and often live music, it is the place to be. If it is a holiday, you may want to get there early as people line up for the food and experience!


The Fusion:

As the name suggests, this downtown Frankfort based restaurant offers fusion cuisine. If you have a taste for asian, this is the place to go. Start with an appetizer, or share a small plate before deciding on whether you would like perhaps some stir fry or maybe sushi. With a full bar and a great variety of Saki, they aim to please.


The Mayfair Tavern:

Located in Elberta, the Mayfair Tavern has a full menu, in addition to a full bar. Serving up soups, salads, fish & chips, and all of your other favorites, you won’t leave hungry. They are open for dinner in the off seasons,  and both lunch and dinner service in the summer and have outdoor seating for those beautiful Michigan summer days.


 Dinghy’s Restaurant & Bar:

Dinghy’s is another downtown Frankfort favorite. With a full menu including soups, sandwiches, salads, fish and steak, there will certainly be something to please everyone. Although not listed on their website menu, they do have a full bar (as suggested by their name).


The Cherry Hut:

The Cherry Hut is a local icon, dating back to 1922, when it began as a roadside pie stand. Today it is a summer only eatery, although it does sell it’s cherry related products throughout the year, and online. Serving up traditional diner fare, you can find everything from cherry chicken salad to pot pie and of course turkey dinner. The restaurant is generally open from Mother’s Day to the beginning of October, but check with them to find out the latest and greatest info.


The Hungry Tummy:

If pizza is your thing, be sure to try the Hungry Tummy in downtown Beulah, with a brick pizza oven, hand tossed crust, and all of the usual suspects to choose from for toppings, it is sure to please. They also have full menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even the most finicky eater will find something to enjoy. Open all year round, they keep locals and visitors alike coming back.


The Cabbage Shed:

Located in Elberta, you will find the Cabbage Shed as you head towards Elberta Beach. Open in the evenings, they serve everything from cheese curds, to pasta, to fish and chips. They have a full bar, and outdoor seating that overlooks Betsie Bay. It is just down the road from the Betsie Valley Bike trail, so stop in on your way by. Don’t forget to try their Famous Shed Borscht!!


Cold Creek Inn:

The Cold Creek Inn is located in downtown Beulah, has a bit more of a formal flare than some other local places. With a full service bar, they serve everything from whitefish and perch to burgers and pizza. They are open year round so even those visiting in the off season can stop in and give them a try.
